I, a woman (Yo, mujer).

Not alone in Chile (M. Bachelet), Germany (Merkel), USA (Hillary Clinton, Condy Rice) or in Peru (Lourdes Flores), are women with potential to become Chancellors or Presidents of their respective countries. Also in Africa, where the phenomenon seems to have more extensive basis because several countries of this continent count since some years with Ministers and vice Ministers. By the way as a conclusion, the 22/11/05, E. Johnson Sirleaf, a woman of 67 years, was proclaimed President (chosen democratically), of her small country : Liberia (111,370 km2. Newborn Mortality =147/1000, average of life = 41 years, 60% of illiterate women, expenses in Defense > 30% of her National Budget, etc), becoming the first Afro-Woman President. The theme imports because in various African countries, to the already known problems of unemployment and inefficient health-education, we must add those of corruption and continuous civil wars, in fight by the power. Chaos only to be surpassed, by efficient and honest women, according to the African electoral perception. The presidential election of the Sirleaf, happens after 20 years of military fights in Liberia, a rich country in mines, oil and many other natural resources.

Why the Liberians chose to the Sirleaf as their president?. Simple:
a)in general, the women in the power (African especially) -for the moment- do not fill the newspaper’sheadlines with scandals or personal corruptions. The Bachelet for example, after working for Health and Defense with a clean file, prepares to gain the Chilean presidential elections
b) in Africa the woman is perceived as the person, that seeks water, cooks, feeds and cares for his children, that organizes and loves excessively his home. By something,
some philosophers said: “who administers well his home, will administer also very well to its nation…”.
c) on the other hand, the number of independent and educated women, is each time greater.
PD. If you do not they believe me, be given its time to appreciate the combative style, of great esthetics and originality of: Blanca Nieves, La morena escribe, Noches virginales de BebaNewmann, Habla quechua, la belleza de dos idiomas, etc. On another level, I admire to the Rostorowsky, to Cristala Constantinides, the women of the glass of milk, at thousands of Peruvian mothers that dayly embrace and kiss tenderly their children.

Yo, mujer
