Semantic Web:Yeah, it is coming, it is coming...

(Abstract: From Lohr Steven's report of NYTimes and Bobbie Johnson, from The Guardian)

Good article of Lohr, in the sense that a growing number of related scientists, consider -certain superstructure or web's reach- as the germ of a young science, superior to a computational simple technique. They arrived to this conclusion, after decades of impressive processing speed advancement, storage, development of networks, emergency of softwares each time more intelligent, that have ended up transforming the web into an innovative science in the business and in the culture. From simulations of climatic changes and unraveling of the human genome, it has spent to changes in the way of making business (at low cost), changes in the communication and modifications in the global economy. Its effects in the culture can it turns in the emergency of Youtube, Ipod, lively videos, etc. What does it come now?, is the topic of a meeting to be carried out, this month in Washington, with the sponsorship of the Computational Science and Telecommunications Board, section of the National Academy and the National Board of Science and Technology, USA. Joseph F. Traub, President of the Board and professor in the university of Columbia, has simply titled this Symposium as: "2016."

That's not all. Academics and computational scientists of IBM and Google has just discussed diverse topics including social networks, digital images, online media and the impact of the web in the work and employment, all summarized in 2 items :1) the deep impact of the computation in diverse sciences, specially in social sciences and 2) their influence in political matters -more powerful- in the measure that technology becomes in but powerful and extensive. Richard M. Karp, Professor of the University of California/Berkeley, has gave this chat recently: "The algorithmic nature of scientific theories”, explaining that his investigation had been mobilized from the computation to microbiology by means of algorithms. These -kind of a step-by-step- to calculate, constitute a central concept in mathematics and computational science. Thanks to it, the biology is viewed and understood now like a science of the information. In other words, the nature would be computable.

In the web, the social and technology matters form inextricable nets such a way that the behavior of many social networks is viewed with entire clarity, being expected a revolution in its mensurations. The new sociotechnológical networks to be studied include e-mail patterns, recommendations of commercial places like: Amazons, messages and posts in community places like: Myspace and Facebook, diffusion of news, opinions, fashions, urban myths, products and services in Internet. Why some communities prosper and others decline or die?. Are their causes able to be captured in algorithms? The investigation of social networks is good for political, marketing-men, sociologists, economists and educators. It is the introduction of the computation and algorithmic processes in the social networks. With these weapons it will be possible to follow the online behavior of individuals' groups. It arises then, the topic of the privacities, watched carefully when AOL inadvertently liberated 650,000 users' private registrations in the web. The future tendencies in images and storage will make possible to anyone to use small micros and cameras to register his life. Rick Rashid, a computational scientist and head investigator of Microsoft laboratories said that he would like to see their son's growing or to listen conversations that he had with his father many years behind. You will also attend a surveillance society, quality to be used by the community.

The creator of the world wide web (www), Tim Berners-Lee, founder of the web in 1990, said that Internet is in danger of being corrupted by lying people and swindlers. He added that if internet is not carefully watched it will suffer considerable reductions in his prestige. The danger exists of flooding it with falsehoods and incorrect things. The area of bloggers is one of those but difficult and dangerous, because of risks associated with inaccuracies, libels and data without reliable sources of information. The readers according to Tim, spread to admit as truth all that is posted. The blogging is a work for people that reads blogs. To avoid these problems, it is necessary to have access to the original source of information. For this reason, now Tim Berner plans to dictate courses for pre and postgraduate students of this computational new science. It is expected that the new discipline wins consent in companies like Google, Yahoo and Amazon, as well as of Microsoft and IBM, but traditional. It is about to diffuse and to create a semantic web, a version but intelligent. Tim Berner, said that his only intention is to make but sure Internet, the same one that should remain free and open to anyone that wants to use it. The important thing is that the web remains like a universal space -not alone for certain people- but for all.
