Spain : A giant in sunlight energy

Pictures taken from BBC.
From the small photovoltaic cells (diodes semiconductors, collectors of sunlight, activators of electrons, that after amplifying them -in series- convert the light in electricity, activating diverse electronic devices of houses and rural mass media), Japon and Germany have passed to build businesses of sun energy of high performance like that of Espenhain/Leipzig (33 500 sun modules, 5 Megawatts, 1800 homes). Espana that itself does not remain behind has just created the first European commercial sunlight energetic head office intending to provide electric energy to all Seville (600 000 inhabitants), the 2013. Although the sunlight companies that operate in Espana (Abengoa and Solucar) employ photovoltaic cells, the news is that they also have a variant one, conformed by 600 mirrors (helióstates, solar receivers), sown in open fields that collect and reflect the sunlight toward the high thing of a tower of concrete 40-floor (115 m.), where impacting on pipes full of water they get vapor (stored in tanks), that moves turbines generating electricity. Michael Geyer of Abengoa says that this system that costs 3 times but that conventional methods, does not contaminate the environment. We parodied to David Shukman of the BBC, imagine the clear Peruvians deserts of Sechura and Nasca, reflecting his sunlight in rainy medium highaltitudes areas generating huge quantities of electricity.
