A DRUG CALLED URINE

Caused a stir in 1978, to know that the sitting prime minister of India Morani Desai, drank a daily serving of his own urine for health purposes. By then, what the public not knew was that sterile urine of a healthy man, contained bodily waste products as well as remaining antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, hormones, etc. 1) So, the Roman Pliny and Ambroise Paré recommended the ingestion of fresh urine to heal burn, injuries, nicks, etc. 2) Robert Boyle recommended drink fresh urine to combat sore throat. 3) In France (1671), the chemical Matte Faveur collected the urine of children to produce volatile salts. 4) The soldiers of the First World War used anti-gas masks soaked with their own urine (urine ammonia counteracts chloride gas). 5) According to Richard Sugg (The Guardian/20/March/2011), Gerardine Botte, professor of chemistry (Ohio University), currently used urine to generate hydrogen fuel.
